Poster Preparation

All poster presenters are requested to bring a printed poster conforming to the requirements below. You are also requested to submit an electronic version of your poster for viewing during the meeting (see below).

For more advice on preparing your poster please read Ten Simple Rules for a Good Poster Presentation (PLoS Comput Biol. 2007 May; 3(5): e102.)

Note that at ESDR meetings any means of digital recording of posters, including photography and video, is expressly forbidden.

Poster Board and Material
The maximum size of your poster should be 120 cm (height) 90 cm (width). Posters should be in Portrait/Vertical format.

Your poster number will be displayed with large printed figures on the poster board. Your poster material should be attached on the surface by material provided by the ESDR meeting staff in the poster area.

Text Layout
Give a short and comprehensive review of the basic items of your study. This can be done by dividing your text into several clearly delineated paragraphs and sections, such as Introduction or Aim of Study, Materials and Methods, Results/Conclusions. Your poster text should be enlarged so that it can be read at a distance of about one metre.

Illustration Layout
Drawings, diagrams and photos are extremely helpful and often necessary to display results and conclusions. Make sure that your illustrations are easy to understand; do not overload any chart or drawing with information.

Poster Exhibition

Posters will be displayed for the duration of the meeting.

Presenters must stand with their posters during formal viewing sessions.

Installation and Removal

• Printed posters must be installed on Wednesday 27 or Thursday 28 September (poster areas open at 09.00). If you have used ESDR's poster printing service, please collect your poster from the registration desk.

• Please remove your poster by 17.00 on Saturday 30 September. Posters remaining after this time will be destroyed.

All 2017 ESDR posters will be available for viewing throughout the meeting at the Electronic Poster Kiosks. This area contains 20 large screens and is only available for poster viewing (no Internet connection). Electronic Poster technology enables fast browsing/search and a facility to contact the author. All ESDR poster presenters will receive email notifications to submit their electronic posters.

A technician will be available to assist with any questions/problems. More details about electronic posters here.
